The Sandy Springs City Council unanimously voted Nov. 4 to defer approval of its Oct. 21 meeting minutes, the second time recently that the official record of a public city meeting has caused concerns.
When council members vote to approve minutes, they agree the minutes are an accurate public record of a meeting. The Oct. 21 minutes will come before the council again Nov. 18.
Dist. 6 Councilwoman Karen Meinzen McEnerny said the minutes are “incomplete at this point.”
Dist. 2 Councilwoman Dianne Fries said they are “just not ready.”
The most prominent decision the City Council made Oct. 21 was voting 5-1 to allow Mount Pleasant, S.C.-based American Media Services to build four 303-foot radio towers at the Blue Heron Golf Club on Morgan Falls Road.
The council also recently made a change to the minutes of its Aug. 19 decision allowing Holy Spirit Preparatory School to build a sports complex on Long Island Drive. That change, made Oct. 7, led to a different vote count on the issue.
