Two major Sandy Springs bridge projects and repairs to a failed culvert on Glen Errol Road have been slowed by holiday schedules and the weather.
Crews working on the Peachtree-Dunwoody Road bridge over Nancy Creek have drilled a water-tight chamber and poured columns to replace parts of the bridge damaged during floods in September.
Utility work and construction likely will continue seven days a week, if weather permits. Work is scheduled to be completed and the bridge is to open to traffic by April.
Foundation work continues on the Riverside Drive bridge over Marsh Creek, a project also slowed by weather problems and holidays. Construction will continue seven days a week for the duration of the project. Work is scheduled to be completed by April.
Repairs to the failed culvert on Glen Errol Road began Dec. 14. The contractor, Site Engineering Inc., is to complete the project in 30 available working days. With good weather, the project should be done by the end of January.
