The 3-year-olds, part of a set of triplets, participated in the annual Preemie Reunion April 17 at Northside Hospital in Sandy Springs. The event included face painting, arts and crafts, moonwalks and fingerpainting.
Children who were once premature infants at Northside Hospital’s Special Care Nurseries reunited April 17 with physicans, nurses and health care professionals who provided care for them.
“This is the biggest thank you a parent can give the staff,” said Anne Moroz, parent resource clinician at Northside’s SCN in a news release about the event. “All of us in the Special Care Nurseries want to see our handy work and how far our babies have come.”
Northside’s SCN provides acute care to infants with conditions ranging from heart problems to underdeveloped lungs, according to the press release. The unit cares for as many as 100 premature infants at one time, with more than 1,500 premature and special-needs infants annually.
The youngsters showed how well they have progressed by enjoying a number of fun events with their families such as face painting, arts and crafts, moonwalks and fingerpainting.
Sponsors included the Sandy Springs Police and Fire Department. All proceeds benefited the SCN. The event was held at the Northside/Interchange Professional Building at 5780 Peachtree Dunwoody Road.
