Students from several Sandy Springs schools have been selected to take part in the Governor’s Honors Program this summer. The program offers six weeks of instruction for intellectually gifted and artistically talented students, according to the Georgia Department of Education.

The program is scheduled from June 13 through July 24 and will be held at Valdosta State University.

Students selected as finalists for the program, according to the education department or their schools, include:

Holy Innocents Episcopal School: Kaki Bennett, chemistry; Megan Ernst, communicative arts.

North Springs Charter High School: Justin Eisenberg, math; William Ferrand, music; Emory Mulick, music; Michelle Plavnik, chemistry; Amanda Prince, dance; Gerardo Veltri, visual arts; Kelly Young, dance.

Riverwood International Charter High School: Jessica Bernstein, visual arts; Aaron Bhole, executive management; Emil D’mello, executive management; Alayna Feng, visual arts; Wesley Nichols, theater; William Nichols, music; Laurissa Papillon, visual arts; Oliver Paprin, social studies; Alyssa Rogut, visual arts; Nicola Salle, theater; Ivey Welton, visual arts.
