Keep Sandy Springs Beautiful is sponsoring a hazardous waste and electronics recycling event on June 12, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the former Tom Jumper Chevrolet at 7200 Roswell Road. The event will provide Sandy Springs residents, but not businesses or contractors, a safe way to dispose of unwanted hazardous waste and electronics.

Acceptable items include paint, kerosene, aerosols, pesticides, oil, antifreeze, pool chemicals, fire extinguishers, propane cylinders, batteries, computers, cell phones, VCRs, telephones, cameras and related items. There will be a $10 charge for each television.

Unacceptable items include yard debris, medical waste, smoke detectors, ammunition, kitchen appliances, washers and dryers, power equipment, tires and household trash.
