Atlanta police are searching for a man who broke into a Buckhead woman’s condominium at about 2 a.m. July 27, kidnapped the woman and forced her to withdraw cash from several ATMs before setting her free at a Cheshire Road shopping center.

According to police spokesman Otis Redmond, the suspect broke into the woman’s Normandy Court home in the gated Walden on Lenox community off Lenox Road while the victim was asleep. She awoke to find the man inside her doorway, according to the police report.

Redmond said the suspect made the victim drive to several ATMs and stole $460 from the victim. “The suspect then drove the victim in her vehicle to 2000 Cheshire Bridge Road and told her to exit the vehicle,” Redmond said. The woman’s 1999 Honda was later found in a parking lot of a bowling alley on Piedmont Circle.

The woman has not been identified. She was not physically injured.
