Sandy Springs police on Sunday, May 6, reported that Michael Parson has been arrested in connection with the shooting of his wife outside an apartment complex.

Police reported the Texas Highway Patrol arrested Parson in Tyler, Texas on Saturday night after a traffic stop. He was arrested without incident and driving a green Honda Civic described in an earlier bulletin about warrants for his arrest.

Michael Parson is charged in an April 20 shooting that left his wife, Adina Parson critically injured at Grady Memorial Hospital.

Michael Parson is being charged with aggravated assault, aggravated battery, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and giving false statements in writing concealing the facts of a felony.

Parson works as an attorney for the state Department of Public Health. Police allege that on April 20 Michael parson shot his wife in the head several times in the head in the breezeway of her apartment building, the Residences at Morgan Falls. It was the same apartment complex where another man recently died after being shot in a botched drug deal, according to the police.

Parson is being held in the Van Zandt County Jail in Canton, Texas.
