The Watershed Alliance of Sandy Springs will offer tips on how to collect and use stormwater during a meeting at the North Fulton Annex on Monday, May 14, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The alliance has invited a group of local contractors who will offer advice on using stormwater collected from roofs and driveways.
According to a press release, there are several ways to make use of this natural resource. They include:
- Replanting creek banks to help stop erosion and attract wildlife;
- Rain gardens
- Irrigating plants and gardens.
“Do you have a stream on your property and flash floods are eating away at it?” the alliance’s press release says. “Come meet the experts that can help you find a solution either with appropriate plantings or more extensive stabilizing of the bank.”
There will also be a brief Watershed Alliance business meeting. There is no cost to attend this event.
