Sunbelt League baseball is heading back to Brookhaven for another summer season.

“We’re getting ready to crank it up,” Brookhaven Bucks owner John Davis said.

Opening day is June 2, Davis said. The team’s final home game this year will be July 25, he said.

The Bucks, a team composed of college players, play in an eight-team league that has clubs in Marietta, Norcross, Peachtree City, McDonough and Alpharetta, Davis said. The Brookhaven team organized last summer and drew about 2,200 fans over the course of its inaugural season, he said.

“We won our division last year,” he said. “This year, we’re going win that dadgum championship.”

The team plays its home games at Hermance Field at Oglethorpe University. Tickets cost $4 for adults and $2 for children. Adult season tickets cost $30, he said. Davis said the club plans to sell tickets at the Brookhaven Farmers Market.
