A driver and a construction site flagger both face charges after the driver drove his Porsche over the flagger’s foot in a Friday, July 13, incident.
Sandy Springs police said the driver, Denis Reggie, was driving his Porsche when he arrived at the intersection of Long Island Drive and Lake Forrest Drive. The flagger, Peter Statia, gave Reggie the signal to move forward, police said. The men told officers different stories about what happened next. There were no witnesses at the scene, police said.
Reggie said Statia charged him and his foot was run over as Reggie drove off. Statia said Reggie intentionally drove toward him, running over his foot and striking his arm.
Police cited Reggie for a hit and run at the scene and released him. Police also cited Statia for simple assault. Statia was treated and released from St. Joseph’s Hospital.
