The following information was provided to the Buckhead Reporter by the Zone 2 precinct of the Atlanta Police Department from its records and is presumed to be accurate.

Assault

1500 block of Liberty Parkway, NW – An aggravated assault was reported on the morning of July 30. A woman said she returned to a friend’s house with her boyfriend. While there, she said she was assaulted by her boyfriend after she attempted to wake him. During the assault, she said the boyfriend rammed her head into a wall, pulled her by the hair and covered her face with a pillow in an attempt to conceal her screams. At the end of the assault, she gathered her belongings and returned to Athens for treatment.  She had pictures of her injuries as well as hospital documentation from her subsequent treatment.

2600 block of George Street, NW – An aggravated assault was reported on July 31. The suspect struck the victim in the face and had a knife, attempting to stab the victim. The suspect was arrested and transported to jail.

1800 block of Peachtree Road, NE – An aggravated assault was reported on Aug. 1. A man said another man fired a pistol at him. Two men on the scene said they encountered a man matching the suspect’s description and he fired a shot in their direction. A shell casing was found at the scene.

4th block of Peachtree Valley Road, NE – An aggravated assault at a residence was reported on Aug. 1. The suspect used a belt to choke the victim; the suspect also kicked the victim. The suspect confirmed the victim’s statement.

2600 block of Pine Tree Road, NE – An aggravated assault was reported on Aug. 1. The suspect hit the victim with a wooden hanger. The suspect was arrested; the son witnessed the fighting.

4th block of East Drive, NE – An aggravated assault was reported on Aug. 3.  A woman said her boyfriend hit her about the head and face, and slammed her head on the ground, poured Coke on her head and then pepper sprayed her.

3rd block of Honour Circle, NW – An aggravated assault was reported on Aug. 7. A woman said her husband grabbed her aggressively and pulled her hair, leaving marks on her face and chest area.  The husband said his wife hit him over the head with a coat hanger, leaving a mark on his head.

2000 block of Hollywood Road, NW – An aggravated assault was reported on Aug. 7.  The victim was held down by the suspects and cut with a razor blade. The victim was taken to the hospital. Two female suspects fled in a burgundy Nissan.

3000 block of Peachtree Road, NW – An aggravated assault at a gym was reported on Aug. 11. The suspect punched the victim in the face while he was working out.

Robbery

1800 block of Howell Mill Road, NW – A robbery was reported on July 29. A woman was sitting in her vehicle in a parking lot and was approached by the suspect who asked for directions. The suspect snatched an iPhone from her hand with a bit of a struggle from the victim. The suspect gained control over the phone, stole it, and got into the passenger side of a black BMW. The woman grabbed the door handle to the vehicle and pulled it, but it was locked and the suspect fled the scene. She had minor scratches from the incident but refused treatment.

2600 block of Forrest Way, NE – A robbery was reported on July 30. A woman said a man she met at Club Taboo sexually assaulted her.  She next changed her story and said she was driven in a truck and then a van. She was questioned again and she said she was not raped, she was robbed.

600 block of Lindbergh Drive, NE – A pedestrian robbery was reported on July 31. The suspect opened the victim’s vehicle door, choked the victim, and stole her purse and phone. The suspect dropped a shirt and hat while running away. Fingerprints were lifted. The suspect is known to frequent the area.

2300 block of Hyde Manor Drive, NW –A robbery at a residence was reported on Aug. 4. A man said another man wearing a red bandanna on his face and a partially red/black baseball bat on his head came to his home.  The suspect asked the victim to give him all of his money and victim responded “no.” The suspect snatched a wallet, Mac book, iPhone and $200, and ran. Responding officers were able to track the phone, but when they went to the location the phone was no longer there.

3200 block of Roswell Road, NE – A robbery of a pedestrian was reported on Aug. 5. A man said he was walking home when a car pulled up beside him with a male driver and female passenger. The woman asked him if he needed a ride and he said “no.”  The driver pulled out a gun and told the victim to get in the car. He got in the car and the suspects took his wallet, driver’s license and debit card. The suspects threw the victim out at a gas station and drove off. When the victim woke up this morning, he noticed there was $3500 worth of fraudulent charges on his debit card.

1600 block of Northside Drive, NW – A robbery was reported on Aug. 8. A woman went to a hotel to purchase a laptop from the suspect.  She followed him to a U-Haul truck, then said she changed her mind at which point the man pointed a gun at her. The suspect stole $160 in cash. He threw a box containing a notebook and an extension cord out of the vehicle before driving off.

2500 block of Piedmont Road, NE – A commercial robbery was reported on Aug. 9. Bank employees said two men entered armed with handguns demanding money. An employee was ordered to the ground by one of the men at gunpoint before he approached another teller and said, “Give me all of your money, bitch. Hurry up or I’ll shoot you.” Witnesses said one man stayed at the door the entire time and began to count down as if they were on a time limit. When the men received $10,000 dollars in cash, they both fled the scene on foot.

Burglary

3000 block of Nancy Creek Road, NW – A residential burglary was reported on Aug. 1. The neighbor said the residence had been broken into through the kitchen door being forced open. The man said he was checking on the house and noticed that the cat was outside, which is when he discovered that the kitchen door had been forced open and a 52-inch TV and laptop computer were taken from the house.

1700 block of Commerce Drive, NW – A residential burglary was reported on Aug. 8.  A woman said she was in the shower when she heard a noise. She thought it was workers doing something on the roof. She soon discovered that the door had been kicked in and items had been taken from her apartment.

500 block of Collier Road, NW – A residential burglary was reported on Aug. 10.            A woman drove home and saw a Dodge Charger in her driveway and a man standing next to the vehicle. When he saw her, he started blowing the horn and yelling. Several other men came running from the neighbor’s yard.  She then discovered that her back door had been kicked in and an iPod, iPhone, two laptops and another laptop were taken.

3300 block of Peachtree Road, NE –A burglary was reported at a hotel on Aug. 11. An unknown suspect stole a laptop and several drinks from the minibar. There were no signs of forced entry to the hotel room.  The door lock panel was not secure due to missing screws.

Larceny

3300 block of Peachtree Road, NE –A larceny from a specialty store was reported on July 30. A woman entered the store and requested a replacement phone for her defective iPhone. Once given a replacement phone, she requested that her information be deleted from her original phone. When the store employee advised her she could not have the new phone until the defective phone was turned in, the customer became irate. The store employee said he went to the back of the store to retrieve a copy of the store agreement detailing this. Upon returning to the front of the store, the suspect was seen leaving the store with both phones in hand.

3300 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny from a specialty store was reported on July 31. The suspect was an employee of the store and stole $16,116 worth of merchandise. The suspect was arrested and transported to jail.

3100 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny at a department store was reported on July 31. Two men entered the store and employees lost contact with one while she showed the other one where the bathroom was. After the men left, two employees noticed their cellphones were missing. One of the suspects was later arrested on a warrant arrest, but did not have the phones in his possession.

300 block of Pharr Road, NE – A larceny was reported on Aug. 3.  The victim did beauty service at her salon for a customer, and the customer failed to pay the full amount of money for the service.

2700 block of Lenox Road, NE – A larceny from a business was reported on Aug. 4.  A woman said two men around 15 years of age and came in and snatched her iPhone. The suspects fled the scene in a black Lexus 300. She said she had tracking on her phone. The officer began to track the phone and it was giving off a strong signal from Zone 4. After 30 minutes, two Zone 4 officers went to where the signal was coming from and located the phone inside a corner store. The clerk behind the counter handed the phone over and said he bought the phone a few minutes before from a man for $50.

8th block of Lenox Point, NE – A larceny at an apartment complex was reported on Aug. 5. A man said cash from his wallet and his car keys were stolen by two women. The suspects attempted to get him to go into the building, but when he refused, one of the suspects starting rubbing on him. One suspect then ran back to her car and drove off.

3300 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny from a department store was reported on Aug. 6.            A man walked into the store and wanted to try on a $1500 ring. He tried on the ring and fled with it.

1300 block of Northside Drive, NW – A larceny was reported on Aug. 7.             A woman said she left her hotel room and when she returned, her suitcase had been moved and $200 in cash was missing.  The room appeared to have been cleaned by housekeeping. The manager said he would check to see who had keys to the room.

3300 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny was reported on Aug. 7. A woman said she was in the process of cleaning the front counter in the restaurant when she noticed a man at the rear of the location. When she confronted him and asked him what he was doing there she noticed he had her

purse behind his back. After a brief struggle over the purse, he fled the scene. Off duty units gave chase and the man was found hiding behind a vehicle in the parking deck of a hotel nearby. The suspect initially did not comply with commands to surrender and put up a brief struggle where he was pepper sprayed. He later surrendered and again put up a brief struggle. The off duty unit received minor injuries to his knees and elbows. The property was recovered and returned.

600 block of Lindbergh Drive, NE – A larceny from a gas station was reported on Aug. 9.            The security manager who services the vacuum machine said that the machine was broken into over a two-month period, and $1,094.20 was taken. The security manager said whomever broke into the machine had knowledge of how the locks work.

Larceny from Auto

2000 block of Monroe Drive, NE – A larceny from an auto was reported on Aug. 2. The victim’s driver’s side door window was broken.  A black bag containing clothes, shoes, a shaving kit and blood pressure medicine was taken from the vehicle.

1400 block of Highland Avenue, NE – A larceny from an auto was reported on Aug. 2. A woman said her rear driver’s side window was broken out and two laptops were taken.  She did not discover the theft until she left the Family Dog restaurant to go home. When she felt wind coming from the window she realized the computers were missing.

500 block of Pharr Road, NE – A larceny from an auto was reported on Aug. 5. An unknown suspect entered the victim’s Infinity and stole his stainless steel Smith & Wesson 500 revolver with ammo along with a black and red suitcase with $3000 worth of clothing inside.

Auto Theft

1700 block of Commerce Drive, NW – An attempted vehicle theft was reported on July 29. Four suspects were trying to steal a silver motor scooter from a parking lot. The suspects were caught on camera pushing the scooter toward the exit. The men were on the scene when police arrived, and three of the four ran away from police without the scooter, eventually getting away. One who acted as the lookout was still on the scene and was detained by police. He was later released without being charged.

3700 block of Roswell Road, NE – An auto theft was reported on July 31. The victim parked a 1996 Chevy Suburban in a parking lot and it was stolen. The keys to the vehicle were left on the floorboard, and that is how the suspect was able to drive the vehicle away.
