The Georgia Department of Transportation plans on paving Abernathy and Johnson Ferry Road at night, a project expected to last through mid-November.

The paving will occur between Roswell Road and North Harbor Drive. The city of Sandy Springs says drivers can expect periodic closing of lanes between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. Councilman Chip Collins told his constituents via email the paving is another step toward completing the project. Residents affected by the widening of widening of Johnson Ferry and Abernathy roads have grumbled about the pace of the project and by safety issues caused by the work there.
