The online financial news service Wall St. Cheat Sheet reported Aug. 12 that the Atlanta-Sandy Springs-Marietta housing market in second quarter of this year experienced the second largest increase in home prices in the nation.

This region placed just behind California’s Sacramento-Arden-Arcade-Roseville area.

The article, citing information from the National Association of Realtors, said the Atlanta-Sandy Springs-Marietta market experienced a 38.9 percent gain compared with the second quarter of last year.

The NAR reports that nationally the housing market had the strongest year-to-year price gain since the fourth quarter of 2005.
