A suspect wanted on aggravated assault charges, who Sandy Springs Police learned was staying at a local hotel on Roswell Road, was captured after he fled the scene, crashed, and tried to run away.
Sandy Springs officers and Georgia State Patrol officers responded to the Comfort Inn at 5793 Roswell Road where they saw the suspect exit the hotel and get into his vehicle. The suspect drove out of the hotel’s parking lot, driving through a fence surrounding the property. He next drove into the neighboring condominium parking lot, driving through a gate and fence to get out of that property.

An officer tried to stop his vehicle from entering traffic, but the suspect rammed the officer’s vehicle before driving into a nearby tree.
The suspect exited his vehicle and tried to run, but after a brief foot chase, he was caught.
Dustin Keith Williams, 35, was transported to Grady Hospital for treatment of injuries in the crash. Sandy Springs Police said Williams faces charges including aggravated assault on a police officer and felony obstruction.
