Atlanta Police are investigating a shooting outside Loca Luna restaurant on Sunday night that left one person wounded and damaged at least two vehicles.
According to investigators, two women got into an argument at Loca Luna around 10:30 p.m. and shots were fired when a group of men intervened.
Video on social media showed people fleeing on foot and by car from the eatery at 550 Amsterdam Ave. after a dozen shots were fired.
A short time later, police were called to the BP gas station at 1856 Piedmont Ave. and found a victim with a gunshot wound to the leg. The victim, who was transported to a local hospital in stable condition, said his vehicle had taken gunfire at Loca Luna and he stopped to change a flat tire when he realized he’d been struck by a bullet.
On Monday night, CBS 46 reported that Loca Luna had been evicted from Amsterdam Walk by landlord Halpern Enterprises following the incident – the second in three months. In October, a man was shot and killed after an argument outside the tapas restaurant and bar.
Halpern Enterprises said in a statement that the “safety and well-being of our patrons and tenants is our top priority” and said the owners of Loca Luna agreed to close the restaurant, but did not indicate when they would move out.
