Troop 467 Scoutmaster Val Carolin assists John Carolin and Reade Midyette during a Flag Day ceremony June 14 sponsored by American Legion Post 140. The scouts cut the stars and stripes from the flag before it was burned. Reade Midyette places flags in the fire. Banners are burned when they become faded, ripped or torn. Troop 467 is sponsored by Peachtree Road United Methodist Church. The American Legion post, on Powers Ferry Road, was chartered in 1936.
