Emory Library will be hosting an ongoing exhibition honoring the life of Atlanta philanthropist and Coca-Cola visionary Robert W. Woodruff (pictured). “The Future Belongs to the Discontented: The Life & Legacy of Robert W. Woodruff” is presented by The Coca-Cola Company, and will run through March 25, 2011 in the Schatten Gallery on Level 3 of the Robert W. Woodruff Library.
There will also be a boutique exhibition in the Corridor Gallery, “On Assignment: Photographs of Robert W. Woodruff,” presenting the work of photographer Jay B. Leviton as part of the Atlanta Celebrates Photography Festival. Highlights include professional photos of Woodruff dating back to 1909 and rare films of him on his South Georgia plantation and around 1920s Atlanta, allowing visitors to see the city as Woodruff saw it. The exhibition is organized into five sections, spanning his early childhood, his joining The Coca-Cola company in 1923, his influence on Atlanta and Emory, his plantation, and married life.
