SACM3For the second year in a row, The Sweet Auburn Curb Market will host “Trees of Joy,” an annual contest where volunteer teams can spread a little holiday cheer by decorating Christmas Trees to donate to local families.

Beginning Saturday, Nov. 27, the volunteer “Tinsel Teams” from all over Atlanta are invited to come to the market and decorate a fresh-cut fir or balsam from Barefoot Tree Farms in North Carolina, win prizes, and experience the joy of giving back.  Participants can pick up their “Trees of Joy” application when they purchase a holiday tree at the Market, but must provide their own lights and decorations.  The decorated trees will be displayed at the Sweet Auburn Curb Market throughout December, and shoppers and visitors are asked to vote for their favorite holiday tree during that time.

At the conclusion of “Trees of Joy” on Dec. 17, prizes will be awarded to the top three “Tinsel Teams” and, with the help of Zipcar, Atlanta District 2 Councilmember Kwanza Hall will deliver the trees to senior citizens and families in the neighborhood.  For more information about the Sweet Auburn Curb Market and its variety of vendors, visit www.sweetauburncurbmarket.com.
