According to the city of Sandy Springs newsletter, here is the current progress of the Johnson Ferry/Abernathy road improvement project.

  • Stage two construction is underway, which includes the widening of portions of Johnson Ferry Road from Columns Drive up to River Valley Road.
  • Reconstruction on the bridge will begin this month with a projected completion date of November 2012.
  • The Breakwater Drive wall and fence is scheduled for completion in early 2012.
  • All construction related to Brandon Mill Road should be completed by January, weather permitting.
