The Dunwoody City Council is looking into establishing a whistleblower hotline for Dunwoody government.

“I’ve received some of those complaints in the past and some of them are quite significant,” said George Keller, a city consultant. “How you handle them will be very important for the local government.”

An independent phone line would provide people with sensitive information a safe means of communication, he said. It likely would cost about $3,000 a year to operate, he said.

“It affords a clean means of contact and anonymous means of doing so. It eliminates concerns of retaliation,” Keller said.
