On Nov. 15, the city of Sandy Springs honored several of the members of its fire and rescue team with its regular Save Awards. One of the incidents mentioned during the award presentation occurred on Sept. 11, 2011 when Sandy Springs Fire Rescue personnel responded to a cardiac arrest call at 5470 Meridian Marks. Crews were able to use their training and equipment to shock the 68-year-old man’s heart back to life while he was on the way to the hospital.
