It’s not every day the Sandy Springs Fire Department finds a horse in a swimming pool, but the firefighters were able to provide a sufficient rescue and the horse is OK.
Fire Marshal Jeff Scarbrough said firefighters received a call at around 3:30 p.m. on Dec. 11 about a horse that decided to walk across a tarp covering a pool at a home on Northland Drive. The tarp gave way and the horse found itself in a predicament, Scarbrough said.
“We had to get in and cut the cover loose from around him,” Scarbrough said. “We got him to the shallow end. He stood up and we were going to let him rest, but he decided he was done and he hopped right out of the pool.”
Scarbrough said the horse, “appears to be fine now.”
