CBS Atlanta is reporting that three men are now in custody and a fourth man is being sought in connection with an April 14 murder at a Sandy Springs apartment complex.
Police have charged Jeanlouis Willy, 28, Gene Stephens, 19, and James Taft, 28, in connection with the shooting death of Patrick Placide. They are also seeking Victor Scott, 24, CBS Atlanta reports. The death was the result of a botched drug deal, police said. Willy, Placide’s cousin, was also wounded in the shooting at the Residences at Morgan Falls apartment building and has been charged because police allege he arranged the drug deal that led to the shooting. Police allege Stephens was the gunman.
A week later there was another shooting at the same apartment complex that left an attorney for the state Department of Public Health in critical condition. Police do not believe the two shootings are related.
