U.S. Reps. John Lewis and Phil Gingrey took easy victories in their primary contests on July 31. Each outpolled his opponent by about four to one in returns posted by the Georgia Secretary of State.

In her bid for reelection to the state Senate seat in District 38, Sen. Horacena Tate drew 77 percent of the vote in her race with challenger Reginald Crossley, according to the secretary of state’s website..

In other national and state races of interest to residents of Reporter Newspaper communities, the Georgia Secretary of State reported these unofficial percentages of the votes cast.
