The Community Assistance Center says it is facing a critical shortage in its food pantry and is asking for the public to step up to the plate.
The food pantry, which serves about 1,000 people per month, said the items it needs the most are: canned vegetables: green beans, peas, mixed, potatoes; peanut butter, jelly, rice, tomato sauce, baked beans, cereal, toothpaste, paper towels.
Donations decreased during the summer months, CAC said in a press release.
The food pantry is located at 1130 Hightower Trail, Sandy Springs, GA 30350. The public can make deliveries Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. To arrange a special delivery time, call (770) 552-4889.
