Two groups trying to organize new cities in DeKalb County generally have agreed on areas that could be included in a single city, a spokesman for one of the groups told DeKalb lawmakers on Oct. 13.
“We have agreed on boundaries that we can both live with,” said Mary Kay Woodworth, co-chair of LakesideYES.
Woodworth said representatives of LakesideYES and the City of Briarcliff Initiative reached general agreement on a map outlining a city during a mediation session held within the past two weeks.
She said the group was not ready to release its map, but intended to release it soon. “We have agreed to some borders,” she told a half-dozen DeKalb lawmakers who took part in a meeting of the county’s legislative delegation at Brookhaven City Hall. “We’re not talking about specifics yet.”
