Following today’s U.S. Supreme Court ruling legalizing same-sex marriage, Georgia Equality, Freedom to Marry, and the LGBT Institute at the Center for Civil and Human Rights held a community celebration at the Center in Downtown. Thanks to C. Cleo Creech for the photos.

Also following the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling to allow same sex marriage, DeKalb County Probate Court will be open Saturday, June 27, from 8 a.m. to noon, to accommodate an expected increase in marriage license requests. “The highest court in the land has ruled on the issue, and it is up to rest of the judiciary to follow the law and accommodate the citizens of each jurisdiction,” said DeKalb County Probate Judge Jeryl Rosh. “To that end, we will be open this Saturday to accommodate DeKalb County residents with their questions and applications for marriage licenses.” For more information about DeKalb County Probate Court, as well as instructions and forms for marriage licenses, can be found at web.dekalbcountyga.gov/probate_court/index.html
