The Commerce Club in Atlanta will host a panel discussion Sept. 9 called Civic Conversations – How Urban Policies Make “Two Georgias” an Outdated Cliché.”
During the panel discussion, the mayors of Augusta-Richmond, Dunwoody, Sandy Springs, Macon-Bibb and Columnbus-Muscogee will discuss how municipal leaders have been working across geographical and political boundaries to tackle urban policy challenges as they emerge, and in doing so, chip away the divide between “Atlanta” and the rest of the state.
These five “hub city” mayors and their metro Atlanta counterparts will discuss ideas to promote economic development, how to put emerging technologies to work to promote public safety and work toward state-wide recognition of the ways cities are an enduring part of the state’s progress.
