
The traveling Bible and Nobel Peace Prize medal of civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. has been ordered turned over to his son, Martin Luther King III. According to the AJC, King III and his brother Dexter have been battling their sister, Bernice, for control of the artifacts. Bernice King said the items should remain in the family, but her brothers want to sell them to private buyers. The consent order signed by Fulton County Superior Court Judge Robert McBurney says the items are to be released to Martin Luther King III as chairman of the board of his father’s estate but does not indicate what will happen to them after that.
According to the Wall Street Journal, real estate investment trust MAA on Monday said it agreed to buy Atlanta-based Post Properties Inc. for about $3.88 billion in an all-stock deal. The merger would create the largest multifamily real estate investment trust by number of units, with about 105,000 across 317 properties around the country.
The Atlanta Business Chronicle reports that Georgia State University will build an $80 million student housing tower Downtown at 120 Piedmont Avenue. The 26 story building will have 228 units with as many as four bedrooms housing 650 students.
