City Springs Theatre Conservatory will offer a variety of weekly classes for musical theater performers ages 6-18 beginning on Monday, Sept. 23. The team of instructors for the 10-week classes includes a veteran of Broadway’s “Les Miserables.”
Classes will be offered on weeknights and weekends and will cover topics like dance, auditioning, improvisation and other introductory classes in musical theater. Students can register for the classes online.
The instructors include Kristine Reese, a veteran of Broadway’s “Les Misérables,” and the national tours of “Pippin” and “Wicked;” and Haden Rider, who most recently appeared as Frankie Valli in City Springs Theatre Company’s summer production of “Jersey Boys.”
Director of Education Jenna Gamerl said the conservatory has provided supplemental training since 2019. She said the Broadway Stars class on Saturday is an excellent opportunity for students interested in auditioning for the conservatory’s Pre-Professional program.

- Musical Theatre Dance – Mondays beginning Sept. 23 with Avery Gillham. Ages 12-18. 6-7:30 p.m., beginner class (1+ years of experience); 7:30-9 p.m., advanced class (3+ years of experience in technical dance training). $360.
- Mastering the Audition – Tuesday beginning Sept. 24 with Kristine Reese. Ages 14-18. 6-8 p.m., $400 (weekly drop-in rate, $50).
- Musical Theatre Tap – Wednesdays beginning Sept. 25 with Avery Gillham. Ages 12-18. Level I, 6-7 p.m.; Level II, 7-8 p.m.; Level III, 8-9 p.m. $300.
- Improv Techniques for The Actor – Thursdays beginning Sept. 26 with Haden Rider. Ages 12-18. Middle school: 6-7:30 p.m.; high school: 7:30-9 p.m. $360.
- Broadway Buddies and Broadway Stars – Saturdays beginning Sept. 28 with Natalie Brown and Estef Martín. Broadway Buddies, ages 6-8; Broadway Stars, ages 9-12. 10-11:30 a.m. $360.
