Giving Kitchen launched its Dining With Gratitude campaign in October, a month-long initiative to help raise funds for food service workers in crisis. Dozens of restaurants, bars, and coffee shops across Atlanta, the metro area, and the country are participating this year. Check out the list of participating restaurants here.
The Atlanta Fair is back again this year, running from Oct. 4 through Nov. 3, across from Georgia State Stadium at the intersection of Central Avenue and Ralph David Abernathy. In addition to rides and games, enjoy some carnival food, including deep-fried Oreos, funnel cake, cotton candy, chicken on a stick, hot dogs, and more.
The Annual Atlanta Arab Festival takes place Oct. 5 and Oct. 6, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., at the Alif Institute on Marjan Drive in Embry Hills. Enjoy live performances, exhibits and workshops, games, and a culinary tour of the food court. The event is free to attend.
Ladybird Grove & Mess Hall on the Eastside Beltline is celebrating its 10th anniversary on Oct. 5 and Oct. 6. The block party starts at 11 a.m. on both days and includes drinks, food, live music, and more. The event is 21+ and free to attend, with VIP passes available for $75 per person for a more exclusive experience at Ranger Station above Ladybird.
Hotel Clermont is celebrating its centennial year on Oct. 6. The day includes a VIP event for $150 per person, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., with food, caviar bumps, desserts, and drinks from Tiny Lou’s. Click here to purchase tickets. Party Above Ponce takes place, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., on the rooftop of the hotel with tacos, pop-tails from King of Pops, champagne, and other drinks. At 6 p.m., the rooftop will host another event as the sun sets over Atlanta with live music and more food and drinks. Both rooftop events are free to attend. Food and drinks available for purchase. Mayor Andre Dickens or officials from the mayor’s office will also present a plaque at 1 p.m. commemorating the Hotel Clermont’s 100 years on Ponce.
The Distillery of Modern Art in Chamblee is partnering with Doc Brown Farm & Distillers to celebrate Fall with a Maize and Mingle event on Oct. 6, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Look for corn-based food and distilled beverages during the event. Check out the event lineup here.
Les Dames d’Escoffier International and the Filipino-American Culinary Professionals organization will host a Filipino-American dining experience to celebrate Filipino-American History Month on Oct. 6, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., at the residence of a Dame in Cabbagetown. The event will include a Kamayan-style boodle fight and Filipino food and beverages. Dame Hope Webb of Estrellita Filipino restaurant and Dame Shirley Hughes of Sweet Cheats bakery will host the event. Tickets cost between $80 and $125 per person. Click here to reserve your space.
The October agave tasting event for Copita Club at El Ponce in Poncey-Highland features Mijenta Maestra tequilera Ana Maria Romero with Chef Mari Vega and Chef Claudia Martinez serving food and desserts. The event takes place at El Ponce on Oct. 9 and includes five agave tastings guided by Romero, four courses with pairings from Vega, and desserts from Martinez, along with a swag bag and welcome drink. Taste Brookhaven takes place at Hyatt Regency Atlanta Perimeter at Villa Christina on Oct. 10, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Expect cocktails, beer, wine, and food from restaurants throughout Brookhaven. The all-inclusive event is $65 per person to attend. Purchase tickets here.
Chalktoberfest takes place Oct. 12 through Oct. 13. Artists will turn the streets around Marietta Square into chalk masterpieces. Expect plenty of beer, food, and other activities during the family-friendly chalk and beer festival. Free to attend.
The Waldorf Astoria Atlanta in Buckhead will host Howl-O-Ween High Tea in October, starting Oct. 12. Tea takes place on Saturdays and Sundays, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., with live music, Halloween decor and foods, and special guest appearances from Furkids Animal Rescue dogs and cats up for adoption. Proceeds from the teas will benefit FurKids. Reservations for Howl-O-Ween High Tea are available via OpenTable, costing $115 per adult and $80 per child aged 11 years or younger.
Grand Tasting Midtown takes place Oct. 17, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., at the Epicurean Atlanta Hotel on West Peachtree. Tickets range from $85 for general admission to $125 for VIP access. Read more about the Midtown tasting event and participating restaurants.
Alpharetta Restaurant Week takes place Oct. 20 through Oct. 26 with more than 50 restaurants participating offering prix fixe lunches and dinners. Check out the full lineup here.
Amore e Amore in Inman Park will host a month-long Halloween pop-up with spooky decor and themed food specials and drinks. On Oct. 26, starting at 4 p.m., the Italian restaurant will host a family-friendly Halloween party, complete with music, costume contests, and more. Starting at 8 p.m., the restaurant will turn 21+ and offer a four-course Halloween-themed dinner for $120 per person. Costumes encouraged. Make reservations here.
Mascogo Tacos in Decatur will host a Halloween-themed book event with bookshop The Book Bird on Oct. 26. Guest speakers include director Andi Behring and psychologist Charles Westbrook. Expect tacos and margaritas from Mascogo Tacos and mystery, horror, and thriller books available for purchase.
Seatings at 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. are still available for the annual Italian grape festival Festa Dell’Uva at Pricci in Buckhead on Oct. 27. The $89 per person ticket includes live entertainment, Italian wines and spirits, and food stations.
