The 10th annual ARTucker event will return again to the Church Street Greenspace, offering family-friendly activities, as well as more than 50 artists displaying their works.

The April 19 event will include several pre-festival activities leading up to it at The Corner Cup, including a pottery demonstration by Tucker artist John Gresens on March 22 from noon to 2 p.m.

Julie Fordham from the ARTucker board on March 29 will show the intricacies of book binding and offering hands-on opportunities to try it out.

On April 5, Brenda Hill, The Passionate Preserver, will have free samples of her famous peach mongo pepper jelly on hand and a limited number jars of product to sell.

The April 12 demo will feature Andrea Winkler, a favorite ARTucker jeweler, who will be demonstrating the art of cold connections in her jewelry, the techniques artists use to join metal or other materials without the use of heat.

Founder Patty Young said about 1,000 people came to last year’s festival, which included free face painting, a drawing tent, three chalk murals, and food and drink available for purchase.

“I’m just so excited to bring back things that were a big hit last year with the kids,” Young said.

Along with the art booths, the day will include a free raffle, dance performances, and music by the Tom Hill Trio to close out the evening.

“The festival is a way to bring local art to Tucker, while supporting our artists,” Young said. “It really gives me a thrill to connect the community with art.”
