Make space.

July 23 — At Pullman Yards, a newly launched arts and film residency is inviting artists to push boundaries, take risks, and connect with Atlanta’s creative community. Set in historic Kirkwood, the program offers studio space, funding, and access to curators and collectors who know how to spot potential. We asked three of this year’s jurors – Sarah Higgins, Kent Kelley, and Alice Gray Stites – what they’re looking for in a resident. Their answers reveal what it means to show up with purpose, vision, and a little creative nerve.

Meanwhile, in Sparta, GA, artist Julio Mejia is building something layered and deeply personal for the upcoming group show “After the Moment We’re In” at the Emma Darnell Museum. His materials? A decade of creative scraps, a piano, and the energy of the young hands now helping him in the studio.

Keep building.

➳ P.S. Good news on the City of Ink licensing front: The Castleberry Hill studio is no longer in violation of any City of Atlanta ordinances and is focused on reopening soon. A great win for Atlanta’s creative community.
