Atlanta’s Fox Theatre has been named “Theater of the Year” by the International Entertainment Buyers Association (IEBA).

The annual award honors venues that demonstrate “leadership, innovation and consistent excellence in booking and executing live events,” according to a press release.

IEBA reportedly selected the Fox Theatre for its diverse programming, remarkable guest experience and commitment to preserving its historic character.

“Receiving this award from IEBA is an extraordinary honor,” said Allan Vella, president and chief executive officer of the Fox Theatre. “It recognizes not just the excellence of our programming and operations, but the passion of our staff, the loyalty of our patrons and the continued confidence artists place in the Fox when they choose to perform on our stage.”

Founded in 1970, IEBA represents live entertainment professionals across all sectors and recognizes outstanding achievements in the field during its yearly “Industry Awards.”

Lucy Lawler-Freas, the Fox Theatre’s director of programming, accepted the award on behalf of the venue at IEBA’s annual conference in Nashville, Tennessee.

“It’s an incredible honor to be recognized by IEBA among so many exceptional venues,” said Lawler-Freas. “The Fox has the privilege of hosting some of the best artists in the world, and this award is a testament to the collaboration and trust that makes those performances possible.”

Hosting more than 200 performances each year on average (from Broadway tours and concerts to comedy, dance and community events), the Fox Theatre brought in over 600,000 guests and generated more than $50 million in ticket sales in 2024 alone.
