Georgia Writers, a non-profit writing organization housed in Kennesaw State University’s English department, is accepting applications for its third annual LGBTQIA+ Literary Success Grants.

These grants are designed to support and amplify emerging LGBTQ+ writers throughout the state of Georgia.

The organization is accepting submissions from LGBTQ+ writers of all ages in the categories of fiction, non-fiction, poetry, and screen/playwriting. Applicants must not have published more than one book or produced more than one professional production of their work to qualify. Applicants must be residents or students in Georgia.

All grant recipients will receive a $500 grant to support their writing endeavors and a scholarship to the annual Red Clay Writers Conference, where they will have the opportunity to give a live reading of their work for conference attendees. The conference will include networking with other writers and author-led panels and talks. This year’s conference is scheduled for October.

Along with completing an application, applicants are required to provide an artist statement and a writing sample. Applications will be accepted until April 30 at 11:59 p.m.
