The Fulton County Library System is inviting residents to once again take part in its annual “One Book, One Read” program.
Each year, the initiative encourages readers across Fulton County to read the same book and engage in discussions inspired by the story.
The county’s library system says that the program was created as a way to promote “literacy, dialogue and connection among neighbors, book clubs and library visitors.”
This year’s selection is The Last One at the Wedding, written by bestselling author Jason Rekulak.

According to a release, the book tells a suspenseful story about a father who attends the lavish wedding of his estranged daughter in hopes of reconciliation. As the celebration unfolds, unsettling secrets about the groom and his powerful family begin to surface, turning what starts as a joyful occasion into a tense and revealing weekend that is full of twists and turns.
“We’re thrilled to bring Jason Rekulak’s The Last One at the Wedding to readers across Fulton County,” said Gayle Holloman, executive director of the Fulton County Library System. “It’s the kind of gripping story that keeps you turning pages and makes you eager to talk about it with others. We hope the suspense and surprises spark lively conversations in book clubs and libraries across our community.”
As part of this year’s program, the library system will host a special event featuring a live conversation with the book’s author (moderated by Karyn Greer of Channel 2 Action News), followed by an audience Q&A and book signing.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 19, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Central Library in downtown Atlanta.
In addition to the discussion with Rekulak, libraries across Fulton County will host various book discussions and other programming, offering residents multiple opportunities to explore the novel’s themes with others in their community.
