Atlanta’s Sweet Auburn Curb Market added four new restaurant stalls on June 5, including a Chicago-rooted burger spot, a Mexican dessert vendor, a Caribbean fusion restaurant, and a local pizzeria brand. All four restaurant stalls are minority-owned.
The Municipal Market, known locally as Sweet Auburn Curb Market, opened in 1918 on Edgewood Avenue, just east of downtown Atlanta. The new stalls join a roster of more than 30 small businesses at the downtown Atlanta indoor market.

New restaurant stalls
Retro Grill Atlanta brings burgers, sandwiches, and seafood from Chicago’s South Side to the market.
Dolce Tropical, which took the top prize at Dessert Fest ATL in 2025, serves tropical frozen treats, including mangonadas, fresh fruit desserts, smoothies, and sundaes, inspired by Mexican street snacks.
A Taste of Secrets, known as A.T.O.S., was founded by one Jamaican family and one Puerto Rican family. The menu blends Spanish cooking techniques with Jamaican spices and includes dishes like oxtail empanadas and Rican bowls.
Edgewood Pizza is a local, Old Fourth Ward-based pizzeria known for oversized slices and wings.
Market and restaurant incubator
Sweet Auburn Curb Market has served as an incubator for Atlanta entrepreneurs for more than a century, offering below-market vendor spaces and proximity to foot traffic from nearby attractions.
Market Executive Director Jeff Delp said in a statement that the new merchants “represent the energy, diversity and innovation that continue to shape the future of the Market, Sweet Auburn, and greater Atlanta.”
The Sweet Auburn corridor has seen renewed attention from city planners and developers in recent years, as the neighborhood seeks to build on its legacy as a center of Black business and culture in Atlanta.
