Happy Fourth of July
Friday, July 3 — The team at Rough Draft Sandy Springs wishes you a happy Independence Day weekend. Our newsletter is a little lighter this week as some of our staff are taking time to celebrate.

🚩 The Atlanta Track Club announced the Northside Hospital Peachtree Road Race will begin under red flag conditions due to the heat and humidity. Please make sure you follow ATC’s guidelines for your health and safety if you plan to participate in the July 4th race.

Stars & Stripes Celebration
🎆 You don’t have to go far to celebrate the country’s 250th anniversary this weekend. Sandy Springs is hosting its annual Stars & Stripes Celebration at City Springs.
The family-friendly event kicks off at 4 p.m. Food trucks will be on site starting at 6 p.m., or attendees are welcome to bring their own picnic. The fireworks will start at 9:30 p.m.
The festivities include a performance by Americana singer-songwriter Don McLean. And, yes, McLean does sing songs you’ll recognize in addition to “American Pie.”

🎆 The Fourth of July fills the air with booms, crackles, and laughter — but for the 1 in 5 adults with hearing loss, the conversation is often the hardest part to follow.
Hearing loss doesn’t just affect what you hear. It affects how connected you feel. Straining to keep up in a crowd, nodding along, quietly withdrawing — it chips away at the moments that matter most.
You deserve to be fully present with the people you love.

Mount Vernon students partner with Dunwoody Preservation Trust
🏫 The Dunwoody Preservation Trust recently teamed with students from Mount Vernon School to address two organizational priorities: developing a capital campaign strategy and increasing brand awareness across the Dunwoody and Sandy Springs communities.
The collaboration was conducted through the school’s Innovation Diploma program, a multi-year, project-based learning experience in which students work with nonprofit, corporate, and civic partners to solve real-world challenges using design thinking and research-based strategies, according to a release from the organizations.
Student teams worked directly with Dunwoody Preservation Trust leadership to analyze the organization’s current positioning, evaluate community perceptions, and develop recommendations to strengthen fundraising efforts and broaden visibility.
