The buyer of Northlake Mall in Tucker has been confirmed to be the Centurion Foundation, more than a month after tenants received a notice to vacate.

Centurion Foundation, a non-profit managing real estate for universities and hospitals, finalized the purchase of the Northlake Mall for $95 million on July 15. According to a press release, the mall will be transformed into a new Northlake Campus for Emory Healthcare, which already had a presence at the mall since 2019.

“This significant step in a transformative project demonstrates that our mission-oriented real estate model and expertise truly deliver for our nonprofit clients and the communities they serve,” Ben Mingle, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of Centurion Foundation, said. “We are proud to partner with Emory Healthcare, a vital Atlanta institution that cares for patients across our region. The new lease will enable Emory Healthcare to realize significant cost savings while providing long-term facility control and funding for future expansion on the Northlake Campus.”

Business owners at Northlake Mall, including owner of Challenges Games and comics Tony Cade, were given a 30-day notice to vacate the property in early June. According to Cade, he and other owners were not made aware that a sale was underway.

A GoFundMe to support Challenges’ relocation had raised more than $9,000. Challenges and Tokyo Express were given extensions on their eviction notice until July 31, but all other tenants left the mall at the end of June, Cade told Rough Draft. Certain areas in the mall will be closed to mall walkers beginning on July 19.
