New design concepts for the performing arts center in the forthcoming City Springs project were revealed Jan. 26 during the Sandy Springs City Council’s annual retreat, held at Lost Corner park. Councilman Tibby DeJulio showed them again that night at the well-attended annual meeting of the High Point Civic Association.

The images, which are not final, show modernist interior decorating, some of it tree-inspired. For the full presentation, click here. Last month, the city also released design concepts for City Springs’ park and open spaces.

City Springs is under construction on Roswell Road at Johnson Ferry Road and Mount Vernon Highway. Intended as the heart of a new downtown district, City Springs will include a new City Hall, a performing arts center, multifamily housing, retail space and various types of public parks. The design of the $220 million mixed-use project is nearing completion, and the facility is expected to open in late 2017.
