Buckhead Community Bancorp, Inc, holding company for The Buckhead Community Bank and Sandy Springs Community Bank, announced March 1 the signing of an agreement to acquire Allied Bancshares, Inc., the holding company for First National Bank of Forsyth County.
“We have been looking to expand our services in the north metro Atlanta area and we saw this as the perfect opportunity,” stated Marvin Cosgray, president and CEO of The Buckhead Community Bank.
Later this year, the offices of the First National Bank in Cumming will operate under the name Forsyth County Community Bank and the offices in Gainesville will operate as Hall Community Bank.
This announcement came on the heels of a Feb. 23 announcement that Cobb Community Bank, a division of Buckhead Community Bank, will open its first location June 1 at 3333 Riverwood Parkway off of Cobb Parkway.
The Buckhead Community Bank opened in 1998 to recreate a hometown banking relationship for Atlanta. There are now community bank locations in Buckhead, Sandy Springs, Alpharetta, Midtown, Johns Creek, Cobb County, Forsyth County and Hall County.
In nine years, total deposits have grown from $27 million to over $668 million and total assets have grown from $34 million to over $750 million. www.buckheadcommunitybank.com.
“Every time we open a new Community Bank, we concentrate on the specific needs of the business and residential customers in that area. We believe in becoming part of the neighborhood. We work hard to know our customer’s banking needs and to give them the personal attention they deserve,” stated Cosgray.
