Regent Partners LLC and Urban Realty Partners have called of plans for a merger after less than a year of courtship, but the two companies will continue to partner on The Brookwood, a 20-story condominium tower in Buckead.
The firms announced plans to combine last October to form a mixed-use development powerhouse using the Regent Partners name. The two have more than $600 million in active projects.
The amicable split reportedly came because Urban Realty founder Mark Riley wants to pursue projects that help revitalize the city’s core. The company recently developed The Reynolds boutique condo project in Midtown.
Regent Partners is developing 3344 Peachtree and the luxury Sovereign condominiums in Buckhead.
G. Sheldon Taylor, who was Riley’s partner and chief financial officer at Urban Realty, will remain with Regent Partners as its CFO.
