Despite a rainy opening day April 5, the damp weather did not keep either the loyal farmers and vendors or die-hard shoppers away from the Peachtree Road Farmers Market in the parking lot of The Cathedral of St. Philip, 2744 Peachtree Road N.W.
The second Saturday for the market, April 12, also started out at 8:30 a.m. with some light rain. But that gave way to warm sunshine by the time the market ended at noon. Even more vendors and customers showed up for the second Saturday of the market.
The market, which will be open from 8:30 a.m. to noon every Saturday from now until October, has vendors offering fresh organic fruits and vegetables, artisan cheeses, fresh pasta, pesto and sauces, honey, cookies, muffins and other baked goods, flowers and handcrafted items.
This is the second year for the Peachtree Road Farmers Market, which draws many of its shoppers from nearby neighborhoods. Besides those who walk to the market, several of the shoppers drive in from north Buckhead, Sandy Springs and Midtown.
