Garbage haulers, beware Sandy Springs.
At least be aware of the time of day when you’re picking up trash in Sandy Springs.
On Jan. 21, refuse truck driver Ralph Gilcrist was fined $1,000 for emptying dumpsters too early in the morning, the city said. The city allows garbage haulers to pick up waste between 7 a.m. an d 7 p.m.
“Waste management companies need to verify the ordinances in the areas they service and comply with them or face the consequences,” Sandy Springs Police Chief Terry Sults said in a statement released by the city. “It is not only a question of law and ethical corporate behavior, it is an issue of common courtesy toward the residents of Sandy Springs.”
