Brookhaven YES now says this meeting was delayed until March 6.

A Georgia state Senate committee on Feb. 28 will take up legislation that would create a new city in north DeKalb County, according to Brookhaven Yes, an organization supporting the new city. The committee is scheduled to consider the proposal starting at 2 p.m. The bill, which passed the state House, proposes creating a new city in an area bounded roughly by Chamblee, Dunwoody, Sandy Springs, Atlanta and I-85 and  Clairmont Road. The city was called “Brookhaven” in early versions of the House bill, but  the name was changed to “Ashford” in the version that passed the House. Proponents of the new city say they plan to try to restore the name “Brookhaven” in the Senate.
