Here’s what the Reporter Newspapers editorial team is reading this morning:

– So as you might have heard, there was a verdict Thursday, March 15, in the sensational trial of Hemy Neuman. A DeKalb County jury convicted him of killing a man outside a Dunwoody daycare center in 2010, and a judge sentenced him to life without parole. CBS Atlanta reports attention is turning towards Andrea Sneiderman, the widow of Neuman’s victim, Rusty Sneiderman. CBS attempted to interview Andrea, who both the prosecution and defense teams alleged was having an affair with Neuman,  and the man who answered the door told a reporter to leave the property. Andrea Sneiderman released a statement through her attorney saying, “after all of the noise and distractions surrounding this case, some measure of justice has been done for Rusty.”

-The Neuman trial’s appeal wasn’t limited to the Atlanta metro area. The Daily Mail, a British tabloid, ran an article after Thursday’s verdict, referring to it as the “‘Olivia Newton John made me do it’ murder.” Israeli news website Ynetnews.com also ran an article about the trial.

-In other international news, the City of Dunwoody announced Friday, March 16, that Australian logistics company CHEP is relocating its U.S. headquarters to Dunwoody. The company is “an international leader in pallet and container leasing.” The city reports, “CHEP has leased over 60,000 sqft of office space within the Hammond Exchange building bringing more than 170, high-paying executive level positions and $2 million in investment into the city.”

-A Buckhead salon had a hair-raising experience when a man opened fire after a dispute about a client’s new ‘do, CBS Atlanta reports. The salon is where celebrity hairstylist Derrick Jay works.

-The Atlanta Journal Constitution reports that retired professional football player Hines Ward is selling his Sandy Springs mansion.

-The Associated Press reports that higher gas prices don’t necessarily translate into higher prices for all goods. Inflation is considered mild. Reporter Newspapers asked our readers whether gas prices would impact their summer travel plans. Their answers might surprise you.
