From police reports dated through Nov. 17.
The following information was provided to the Buckhead Reporter by the Zone 2 precinct of the Atlanta Police Department from its records and is presumed to be accurate.
Assault
1400 block of West Paces Ferry Road, NW – An aggravated assault was reported on Nov. 5. A woman said her ex-boyfriend used his car to ram her vehicle while she was trying to drive away. The suspect caused significant damage to her car. She said there is a history of violence between her and her ex-boyfriend. The suspect fled from the scene before the police arrived.
3400 block of Kingsboro Road, NE – An aggravated assault was reported on Nov. 6. The arrested man threatened to kill the victim with a knife; the victim was knocked unconscious by the suspect when he struck her with a door.
3100 block of Peachtree Road, NE – An aggravated assault at a nightclub was reported on Nov. 7. A man said he and a group of friends were at a bar playing darts. He was on the phone speaking to a friend about an earlier incident he had with the suspect known as “Sonny T.” It was at that time the victim reports the suspect began punching him about his head and face. The victim received visible injuries to his face and a broken nose. The suspect was not located. The suspect has since been in contact with the victim and advises he will turn himself in.
1900 block of Piedmont Circle, NE – An aggravated assault was reported on Nov. 13. A man said his ex-girlfriend forced herself into his hotel room and hit him about the face and head with a broom stick.
He said he did agree to speak with her but only outside of his hotel room. It was at this point, she forced herself into the room and assaulted him. No injuries were sustained.
2700 block of Defoors Ferry Road, NW – An aggravated assault was reported on Nov. 15. The victim advised her sixth-grade principal that she was threatened by one of his students. The juvenile reported that she was getting off the bus with four classmates when the suspect told her he would stab her. When she passed the suspect’s residence, he retrieved a knife from inside the house and threatened to stab her with it. The incident was not reported to the victim’s parents.
Robbery
1100 block of Huff Road, NW- A robbery was reported on Nov. 4. Two men in a silver, older-model Jeep Liberty approached a woman with a handgun and told her to give them her bag. After giving them the bag, she ran out of the area.
3300 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A pedestrian robbery was reported on Nov. 8. A woman said she was standing outside a store talking on her iPhone when she was suddenly struck in the face. She described a man who took her phone and fled the scene. The unit on the scene was able to access her phone’s iCloud account, which pinged the phone to Peachtree-Dunwoody Road. When police responded to the area, they were able to locate the suspects and recover the victim’s phone. She was able to pick the suspect from a line-up.
2000 block of Monroe Place, NE – A residential robbery was reported on Nov. 13. A man said that the suspect pointed a handgun at him and told him to lay face down on the bed, then stole his property. The victim ran an ad on Craigslist looking for men; the victim had sex with the man. The suspect fled in a white SUV.
1600 block of Piedmont Avenue, NE – A pedestrian robbery was reported on Nov. 14. Two men approached the victim and robbed him at gunpoint. They were driving a burgundy Toyota Camry. The suspects’ vehicle had an Ohio disabled person tag. The victim’s stolen shoulder bag containing credit cards, a license, check book and inhaler. The victim’s groceries were also taken.
Burglary
1700 block of W. Wesley Road, NW – A residential burglary was reported on Nov. 5. Someone entered the victim’s home and stole $100,000 worth of jewelry. There were no signs of forced entry.
1400 block of Northside Drive, NW – A commercial burglary was reported on Nov. 5. The manager returned to work and saw that the store’s rear wall had been removed. He said 181 reels of copper had been stolen. The camera showed two men moving the camera.
3400 block of Piedmont Road, NE – A residential burglary was reported on Nov. 8. A woman said that as she entered her residence she heard the window blinds ruffling. When she walked to the window she could see a leg exiting the window. No property was missing.
2000 block of Claude Street, NE – A residential burglary was reported on Nov. 8. A woman said her ex-boyfriend came into the home and took her computer, which he had given to her. He also took one pre-paid credit card with no money on it and their three kids’ Social Security cards. She said there was no forced entry because he has keys to the home and both names are on the lease.
2700 block of Piedmont Road, NE – A commercial burglary was reported on Nov. 8. The arrested person was seen on security video inside the business after hours. The suspect was eating food and drinking wine while inside the business without permission of the owners.
3600 block of Tuxedo Road, NE – A residential burglary was reported on Nov. 15. The victims said someone had entered their home by cutting a window. Someone stole $150,000 worth of sterling silver.
600 block of Pelham Road, NE – A residential burglary was reported on Nov. 15. A woman said she heard her back door shaking and saw a man attempting to pry open the door. He left in a white car when she asked “What are you doing?”
1900 block of Hollywood Road, NW – A commercial burglary was reported on Nov. 17. While the fire station was not occupied, someone entered through a window. Items taken total led $3,000.
Larceny
400 block of Buckhead Avenue, NE – A larceny was reported on Nov. 7. A woman said that sometime between Oct. 31 and Nov. 3, $500 in cash she had by her bed in an envelope disappeared. She thinks someone pried open the front door or came in through the sliding glass door in the rear, which was left partly open. The responding officer found no evidence supporting the victim’s claim.
500 block of Pharr Road, NE – A larceny was reported on Nov. 10. A man said that his clothes were stolen from the hotel dryer. The clothes were left unattended.
3400 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny from a department store was reported on Nov. 11. A man was seen selecting three pairs of True Religion jeans, placing them inside his pants and attempting to leave without paying. When he was stopped and placed under arrest he had a small amount of marijuana in his pants.
1700 block of Howell Mill Road, NW – A larceny was reported on Nov 12. The reporting person said the suspect, an employee of the business, did not make the money deposit drop. The suspect kept $410 instead of putting it in the deposit safe.
2400 block of Piedmont Road, NE – A larceny from a restaurant was reported on Nov. 12. Someone stole $10,313 from the location, by removing cash from the night deposit box during closing.
1800 block of Howell Mill Road, NW – A larceny from a discount store was reported on Nov. 15. A store loss prevention officer watched a woman hide birthday cards, flutes, spin tops, tattoos, sunglasses and nail polish and pass all points of sale. The woman was placed under arrest and transported to jail.
1800 block of Howell Mill Road, NW – A larceny was reported on Nov. 15. A man was arrested after he was seen selecting a skullcap, then placing it into his pants pocket. While searching the man, the officer found a Titan Tiger .38 caliber pistol in his right front pants pocket.
Larceny from Auto
2900 block of Nancy Creek Road, NW – A larceny from an auto was reported on Nov. 4. An unknown suspect entered the trunk of the victim’s black Lexus and stole his left-handed golf clubs and a green-and-white Masters umbrella.
3500 block of Woodhaven Road, NE – A larceny from an auto was reported on Nov. 7. A man said he was doing landscape work and upon returning to his truck he discovered the rear door latch had been sawed off and equipment was missing.
1700 block of Pine Ridge Drive, NE – A larceny from an auto was reported on Nov. 8. A man said he left his vehicle unlocked and parked in his driveway. He received a telephone call from a neighbor who told him he found the man’s business cards lying in the street. The man then checked his vehicle and discovered that his briefcase and other items were missing.
400 block of Buckhead Avenue, NE – A larceny from an auto was reported on Nov. 10. A man said he returned to his 1991 Mazda Miata and saw that someone had stolen $6,000 worth of electronics. The rubber seal around the driver’s door window had been removed.
4600 block of Wieuca Road, NE – A larceny from an auto was reported on Nov. 14. Someone broke the window on the victim’s vehicle. An off-duty APD officer’s bag was stolen. It contained several items including an iPhone charger, a traffic vest, handcuffs, 50 rounds of .40 cal Smith & Wesson ammunition, a flashlight, and a magazine with rounds.
3300 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny from an auto was reported on Nov. 15. Someone jimmied the door on the victim’s black 2007 BMW and stole $40,000-$50,000 worth of clothing from the trunk of the vehicle.
Auto Theft
3400 block of Buckhead Loop, NE – An auto theft from a hotel was reported on Nov. 10. A man said he went out to find his vehicle and it was gone. He said he is current on payments. The vehicle was not impounded. There are cameras on the lot but the manager said the police needed a subpoena to view the footage.
2500 block of Piedmont Avenue, NE – An auto theft was reported on Nov. 11. A woman went inside Waffle House to get food. She left the keys to her vehicle in the ignition, with the door unlocked.
1000 block of Collier Road, NW – An auto theft was reported on Nov. 14. A woman said she parked her vehicle in front of her residence, and the next morning she discovered it was missing. The victim said this is the second time this year that the vehicle has been stolen.
1800 block of Peachtree Road, NW – An auto theft was reported on Nov. 14. A man said he parked the vehicle with the keys inside and it was running to allow it to warm up. He went inside the store and, when he returned, he noticed his 2008 Honda Accord was missing.
