After the opening of its first United States flagship restaurant at the shops at Metropolis in Midtown, La Tagliatella has opened a second location at the new Emory Point development. The restaurant  offers a relaxed, distinctive atmosphere that mimics a northern Italian home, albeit one that offers 400 pasta and sauce combinations.

Featuring ingredients from the northern region of Italy, La Tagliatella has generous servings that are perfect for sharing, including antipasti appetizers like provoletta baked with sautéed zucchini and tomatoes, insalate, lasagna and of course, pizza.

The centerpiece of the restaurant is the pizza kitchen, where  fresh dough is handmade each day  to create the thin, crispy and light pizza crust. There are plenty of combinations to choose from including the di pate pizza with foie gras, duck ham, Taleggio cheese and mushrooms topped with a wine-and-caramelized onion reduction to an absolute must-have Melanzana featuring fried eggplant, drizzled with honey and balsamic vinegar.

La Tagliatella provides numerous meat and vegetarian options including spiedino Napoletano with skewered pork tenderloin,  tomatoes and balsamic onions layered with fresh whole-leaf basil and served with a special sauce and fried gnocchi to a cream sauce with pine nuts and cheese dish.

I also enjoyed the Italian-inspired cocktails like the “caprese martini” with Square One basil vodka, tomato, lemon, basil and mozzarella and the cabernet sauvignon blended “sangria Emilia” with blood orange syrup, pineapple juice, brandy and fresh blackberries.
