Sandy Springs City Council is considering spending $3.5 million on a new fleet of trucks for the city’s Fire Department.

The council will consider approving the purchase at its March 19 meeting.

According to documents provided to the council, the new fleet would consist of six vehicles and costs would be financed over seven years.

The city purchased the fire department’s current fleet in 2006 when the department began operations. The warranty on the fleet expired in 2011.

City Council meeting begins at 6 p.m. at 7840 Roswell Road, Building 500 Sandy Springs, GA 30350.
