In honor of World Breastfeeding Week, which is celebrated August 1-7 of each year, thousands of breastfeeding women gather across the world to participate in The Big Latch On, a synchronized breastfeeding event attempting to break the Guinness World Record of simultaneous women breastfeeding.
Atlanta’s very own breastfeeding mothers will gather for The Big Latch On Intown on Saturday, Aug. 3, at 10:30 a.m. at
Firefly Studio, 1026 Atlanta Ave., Decatur, GA 30030.
In 2012, 8,862 children were counted as breastfeeding as part of Global Big Latch On. The first Big Latch On took place in New Zealand in 2005 and was introduced in Portland, Oregon in 2010. For more about the event, visit biglatchon.org.
